Bubuk

David has a broad love of nature with a particular passion for birds. He is a keen ‘twitcher’ and bird photographer.

The name Bubuk is a variation of the Aboriginal name for the Southern Boobook Owl. The Boobook is the most common owl in Australia and is well-known for its distinctive ‘boo-book’ call.

Owls are synonymous with keen sight (insight!) and wisdom and are a natural totem for the business.

The choice of an Aboriginal version of the name is a deliberate acknowledgement of David’s love of the land, an acknowledgement of the traditional owners of the land and of Australia as the place which is deeply embedded as his home.
